Galentine's Day

Not everyone wants to celebrate Valentine's Day and this year The Forum got behind Galentine's Day instead for an evening of lady anthems, sweet treats and a not so secret screening! With popping candy and candy lipsticks galore on the tables the day was only made sweeter with the addition of our Galentine's Day package: Churros and dip, Rolo brownie and ice cream, popcorn and a glass of prosecco for £10pp. So whilst you were tucking into our delectable platter you could witness the take down of Regina George, Queen of the Plastics. Wednesday 3rd of February saw The Crown and Anchor (our pub/restaurant situated in the semi-rural village of Barugh Green, Barnsley) play host to a whisky tasting evening. Whisky expert Ed Daly (who can usually be found at The Broadfield on Abbeydale Road) talked customers through a list of 5 delectable Scotch whiskies – with plenty of tasting included too, of course. Glenkinchie Hailing from the Scottish Lowlands, (where there are just three distilleries left today) Glenkinchie was the lightest and easiest to drink out of all the whiskies on offer.
