Toby Foster Rocks My Gravy Boat

When BBC Radio Sheffield call to ask if True North are up for making a Bovril based cocktail for Toby Foster's breakfast show, the answer is always YES!

They set us with a challenge of recreating London Cocktail Club's recipe for 'Rock My Manchester Gravy Boat' and we just had to put in a Sheffield twist too.

Our Duty Manager at The Devonshire, Leigh whipped up the delicious, beefy cocktail on air with Kat Harbourne and swapped Worcester Sauce for Henderson's Relish and Distil No 9 Ukrainian Vodka for Sheffield Vodka. True North's Vodka and Gin Ambassador, Chris Allan also talked to Kat about the science of stout and when this cocktail would be best enjoyed.

Rock My Manchester Gravy Boat

15ml Chambord raspberry liqueur

20ml Guiness

75ml fresh tomato juice

15ml Bovril (2 teaspoons of Bovril, mixed with 200ml hot water)

6 dashes Tabasco

10ml lemon

1 whole sprig of rosemary

Pinch of pepper

Pinch of salt

Served: On the rocks; poured over ice.

Method: Shake all ingredients and strain over cubed ice into a Inverness Hi-ball glass.

Garnish: Rosemary sprig, with cracked pepper sprinkled on top and a Yorkshire pudding on the side.
