A guide to New Year’s Eve in Yorkshire + Derbyshire

Keep it local this year and celebrate the New Year at your local pub. True North Brew Co now have 12 venues around Sheffield, Barnsley and Dronfield. Not fancy heading into town this year? There are many different events going on across all of our pubs. Including; pie offers, formal 3 course menus, a gin and jazz event or even a quiz of the year!


It is all about the pie! True North Brew Co are famous for their pies and we could not forget about them on the biggest night of the year. From just £15 per person you can have pie and prosecco at The Waggon & Horses, Millhouses or our latest venue the Punch Bowl, Crookes.

Pie not your thing and fancy something a little more formal? The British Oak, Mosborough will be celebrating with a three-course meal and a delicious menu.

The York, Broomhill will be partying the night away. Welcome in 2020 with a feast of food, gin & live jazz. A Sheffield Dry Gin & tonic on arrival, three courses, live jazz performances & a midnight prosecco toast.

If you are looking for something a little more relaxed, then the Broadfield has the perfect evening for you. Very popular year-round, but especially on New Year’s Eve. The Broadfield on Abbeydale road has a chilled party vibe, with an outside bar, BBQ, dancefloor and DJ.


Are you Barnsley based and fancy some pie to bring in the New Year? The Milton Arms are planning a relaxed evening for New Year’s Eve. Tuck into a pie and a drink and a good old -fashioned knees up for just £12 per person. They also have some live music planned.

The Crown & Anchor are also celebrating all things pie but with a bit of a twist. For just £30 per person you can enjoy; Arrival Prosecco, Antipasti for the table, Pie, chips and mushy peas, sharing dessert platter and Limoncello to finish!


The Blue Stoops in Dronfield also has a great event planned, including 1920’s prohibition fancy dress and a quiz of the year.

If you are more of a party animal, then head to the Riverside Kelham or into town for the Ultimate New Year’s Eve party across 3 venues at the Common Room, Forum Kitchen + Bar and the Old House.
